Baptisms at St Francis

What can you expect?

You’ll be invited to a service, if you are new to our church, to make sure that you feel ‘at home’ with us. We have different services, morning or afternoon on Sundays and a Wednesday 9.50am Pram Service. Sunday 9.30am has Youth and Children’s Church (lively worship and activities in the Hall for 5-16 year olds. Creche for under 5’s in the Parish Room).11.30am is All –Age informal worship ideal for all the family.

Someone from St Francis will visit you to help you prepare for the Baptism. They’ll try to answer your questions and be you church ‘friend’ who keeps in touch with your family after the Baptism service.

One of the clergy will see you to talk over any issues. They will confirm the arrangements, date, time, hymns etc.

To remember their Baptism we give each child a Bible and a baptism candle, and cards to parents and godparents. On the first 5 anniversaries of their baptism we send your child a special anniversary card.

We also invite you to  join other parents on a 6 week Baptism Follow -up course.

We hope that you’ll feel part of church life at St Francis.
