Activities & Social Groups

The Activities of St Francis Church are many and varied, but every one means an involvement of some member or members of the Church. This is a commitment we all try and make. If you want to be part of any of it, you're very welcome.

The Men's Group meets on the first Saturday of each month for breakfast and a guest speaker. Contact (01707) 326937 for more details.
The Evergreen Ladies meet on the first Tuesday of every month at 2.30pm for an afternoon talk and friendship. For more information contact parish office on (01707) 694191.
Thursday Lunches meet every Thursday lunchtime. Come and share a light lunch at 12.30pm in the church hall. For more information contact parish office on (01707) 694191.
Singing at St Francis. We currently have three choirs - the Men's and Boys' Choir, St Francis Singers (mixed choir) and a Girls' Choir. If you would be interested in one of the choirs, please contact (01707) 891828 for more information.

House Groups are one of the best ways to get to know people at St Francis, and to become part of the church-family. A House Group is a group of around ten people, who meet in different locations (such as someone’s home) and various times during the week. Most groups meet in the evening, but a number also meet during the day. In most groups there is a good spread of ages, and of different kinds of people. Many people value highly the love, friendship and fellowship they find in a House Group. In a typical House Group meeting, people read the Bible together, and discuss it in a relaxed environment. They pray together, especially for each other. Groups also organise regular social activities together.

For more information, contact Revd Jenny Gray on (01707) 321177 or Carolyn Annand through the parish office on (01707) 694191.

Fellowship of Prayer - A group of people committed to pray regularly at home for other people with need for prayer. Contact Carolyn Annand through the parish office on (01707) 694191.

Coffee for all - St Francis Fairtrade Coffee Shop is open on Wednesdays from 10.30am to 12 Noon in the Parish Room. Come and support this new outreach venture and enjoy the best coffee in town
