Joining a House Group is one of the best ways
to get to know people at St Francis, and to become part of the church-family.
A
House Group is a group of around ten people, who meet in different locations (such as
someone’s home) and various times during the week. Most groups meet in the evening,
but a number also meet during the day. In most groups there is a good spread of ages,
and of different kinds of people.
Many people value highly the love,
friendship and fellowship they find in a House Group. In a typical House Group
meeting, people read the Bible together, and discuss it in a relaxed environment.
They pray together, especially for each other. Groups also organise regular social
activities together.
For more information, contact Revd
Jenny Gray on (01707) 321177.

St Francis
’ Church is the parish church for all of the Handside area of
Welwyn Garden City. We care about
everyone who lives, works and visits within the area.
During the year we pray for every part of the
parish, and invite people to let us know if they would welcome prayer or a visit.
In the church there is a book near the pulpit by the Prayer Board, in which
anyone is welcome to write a prayer request, which will be included for the next
month in the Saturday intercessions (9.30 am – 10 am in the St Clare Chapel).
Also, a week or two before each road is prayed for specifically a card is
delivered to each house, shop or business there.
On one side it reads:

To
all who live or work in
St Francis
Parish
Prayers
round the Parish
At
St Francis
we pray week by week in our services for all who live and work in the various roads
of the parish. We shall be praying for
the people of your road in the wekk beginning Sunday ……
It may be that there is something or someone that you would either like us
privately to keep in mind for you or mention explicitly in our prayers.
Perhaps there is a friend or someone in the family who is facing an operation
or is unwell. Maybe there is a new baby
or an anniversary to give thanks for, or perhaps simply a problem that needs prayer.
Do use the other side of this card to tell us
anything you would like remembered, as well as whether you might welcome a visit, and
drop it in to me, Revd. Peter Louis at The Vicarage, 48 Parkway.
My telephone number is 323316.
You will also be assured of a warm welcome at
St Francis
at services or at any time for private.

The reverse has space for your prayer request. Add
your name, address and/or phone number if you wish, but this is not necessary unless
you want to ask for a visit.
Do feel free to take a copy of our magazine,
The Fountain, a pew leaflet or other leaflet from the church porch.
We
keep you – a visitor to our web site – in our prayers
